Celebrating our 1 Year Anniversary at Logic Executive Search
“There are women reading these lines who have the potential to build a company that would alter their families lives and the lives of others who’d be positively affected by the business they created… if only they had the audacity to believe it would work”.
This quote gives me goosebumps every time I read it as if it were written to me personally. I longed for a career that would give me the opportunity to help people and “accidentally” fell into recruitment and I have been in love with the industry ever since. It has been by far the most rewarding position that has given me the pleasure to help candidates land their dream job, navigate career transitions or explore a career path that they never would have imagined themselves in before. I have been able to help organizations find great talent to lead their organization forward, navigate through change or help their business get off the ground. I have always stayed true to my morals and ethics of honesty, transparency, and the highest level of service.
When I relocated back to Windsor from Toronto, I reached out to a local award-winning recruitment firm, LucasWorks. I sent my resume to the owner, Maureen Lucas, and followed up with a phone call to see if she could provide feedback on my resume or information on the local job market. I was gracious that she had invited me in to meet with her and I was in awe that the owner of a business would take the time to have a lengthy conversation with me directly. I initially thought she was going to speak with me to see if there was an opportunity that I would be suitable for with one of her clients. To my excitement, she wanted me to work for her company. I spent the next ten years progressing into various positions from Recruiter to Branch Manager, Director of Recruitment and Regional Manager Professional Services Ontario. After 10 years I decided to step out of the industry and secured a position as an HR Manager with a local community hospital. It wasn’t until I left the recruiting industry that I realized just how much I missed it. I had always hoped that one day I would have the courage to follow in the footsteps of the amazing female entrepreneurs in my life. With the support and encouragement of my family, my mentors and the community – I took the leap. I quit my secure job that many would only dream of to launch a business in the middle of a pandemic! Yes, you read that right – launch a business during a pandemic.
It has been the most amazing 365 days and I still pinch myself daily that I get to do what I love day in and day out. For those of you who know me you know how truly sincere that statement is. I have so much to be thankful for including the amazing team I get the pleasure of working with every day who go above and beyond for our clients and candidates. I am thankful to our customers who trust and partner with us to support their businesses, community partners, and the business community who has been so supportive.
