Meet Our EPIC VentureWomen: Jennifer Charron
EPICentre is thrilled to welcome a brand new cohort of EPIC VentureWomen. Each week, we’ll be featuring a different founder or team in a series we like to call 10-for-10. This week, Meet Jennifer Charron, founder of Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions.
Being the mother of two young boys has been the driving force in Jennifer Charron’s entrepreneurial journey. When Launching Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions, Jennifer not only set out a goal to help local companies find great candidates, but she wanted to set an example for her children to demonstrate the importance of helping others and contributing to the local community “Being an entrepreneur allowed me the flexibility with when and how I structured my work so I could do it all – be an amazing mother and still pursue my dream of opening up my own executive recruitment firm” said Jennifer.
Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Windsor, having completed her Bachelors Degree in Labour Studies. She then went on to complete a Certified Personnel Consultant Designation through ACSESS and a Professional Leadership Development Certificate from the Windsor Centre for Executive Excellence. She is also an active member of the Windsor-Essex community, getting involved in The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918), The Jewish National Fund of Windsor and The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce where, in 2016 she was the recipient of the Young Professional of the Year Award. Jennifer’s 10+ years of experience in professional and executive recruitment and her solid understanding for the Windsor-Essex community allowed her to understand the need for a company like hers within our region and although she’s always dreamed of opening a recruitment firm, the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic served as the perfect time to launch. “I didn’t want our community to feel as if they needed to go at it alone. Finding great candidates can be challenging, especially while trying to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. I always dreamed of opening up my own recruitment business and this felt like the perfect time that I could launch the business and help our community find the talent it needs to help their businesses prosper” said Jennifer.
Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions launched earlier this year. Logic’s focus is to assist community-based companies by providing access to an international candidate network. What makes Logic different is their extensive network of candidates and defined scientific approach to recruitment that has been successful in attracting and retaining the right talent within a shorter turnaround time for their customers. They are one of the few selected recruitment firms in the Windsor-Essex region that has been recognized as a national personnel associate, giving them access to candidates around the globe. In addition to executive recruitment, Logic offers outplacement services if organizations are downsizing or
rightsizing to provide guidance to transitioning employees. “When I was thinking about what I wanted the client and candidate experience to be, the words simple, transparent, ethical, logical all came to mind – hence the name LOGIC Executive Search and Workplace Solutions”.
The company’s community-focused approach and international candidate reach has proven successful in identifying and attracting professional and executive talent in communities across Ontario with a focus in the not-for-profit, finance, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. “It is important to have an organization that can offer that community-focused approach with an international reach so that our local businesses do not have to go to a firm outside of our region to help them attract the best talent – they can work with a local recruitment partner like Logic”.
The expression goes when you support small businesses, you’re supporting a dream, something every entrepreneur knows all too well. Jennifer feels very lucky to have had great female leaders in her life, many of whom are female entrepreneurs. “I have had great female leaders in my life, one especially has been my mother. She dedicated her life to ensuring that I had the resources and encouragement to focus on our dreams and has always been my biggest supporter” said Jennifer. “My parents have always been huge supporters of my passion for recruitment and have been a great inspiration for me to pursue my dream of opening up my own business”. As for community support, Jennifer received mentorship and guidance from EPICentre’s Entrepreneur in Residence, Maureen Lucas “Maureen has always been a great mentor, female leader and example for myself personally and professionally with her dedication to the Windsor-Essex community and strong business acumen” said Jennifer.
As a member of the EPIC VentureWomen program, Jennifer along with the rest of the cohort will receive mentorship, access to workshops, industry connections, and tools and resources specific to each startup’s needs. “I feel so honoured to have developed a great network of female entrepreneurs and peers that I have been able to offer my support and knowledge and vice versa that I have gained knowledge from,” said Jennifer. I believe that this program will provide me with a different lens on how I approach my business and has given me the opportunity to work with great mentors in different sectors of business and community.
