Here in Windsor, Ontario there is always one event that truly signifies the upcoming Winter season, and that is the event known as Bright Lights Windsor. During this event which takes place throughout the month of December, the heart of the downtown area becomes adorned with millions of lights that illuminate the streets, parks, and iconic landmarks. The entire area is bathed in a florescent array of colours, and the city comes alive with immersive light tunnels, holiday markets to explore, music to enjoy, and seasonal treats to indulge in.
The Bright Lights Windsor event is a tradition that brings the local community and visitors alike a sense of unity, awe, wonder, and appreciation for the holiday season. It serves as a place of joy and togetherness where families, friends, partners, or individuals can create lasting memories while beholding the spectacles that are the captivating surroundings.
Don’t miss the opportunity to come down to the Windsor area and visit one of my personal favourite traditions!

If you are willing to brave the cold, on a snowy day grab your snowshoes and head out to one of our many Parks and Conservation authorities. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and its an activity that can be enjoyed by the entire family. One of my favorite spots to visit is the Maidstone Conservation Authority.

If you drive out 20 minutes from the city, you will be able to explore the amazing River Lights Winter Festival in Amherstburg running from November 18th to January 8th. Grab a hot chocolate from Caffeine and Co and head down to the beautiful Navy Yard to see hundreds of customized light displays that light up the town’s park that overlooks the Detroit River. You can also visit Toddy Jones Park which features whimsical, playful displays for big and small kids to enjoy. Downtown businesses also partake in the fun by illuminating their windows for the holiday season. Don’t miss this opportunity to stop in and shop local! Some of our favourite shops are River Bookshop and Pink Pieces.

With so many great things to see and do in Windsor-Essex over the holidays it’s important to remember that there are those in our community who need our support, especially at this time of year. There are great ways to volunteer your time, including ringing bells for the Salvation Army.

Whichever you chose, the team at Logic hope you have a great time and wish you a happy holiday season!
