The Opportunity:
Logic Executive Search & Workplace Solutions is proud to partner with the Town of Wilmot on the recruitment of a strategic and collaborative Manager of Engineering. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, the Manager of Engineering will oversee the planning, design, approval, and management of municipal infrastructure, including water, wastewater, stormwater, roads, bridges, and sidewalks, while leading capital planning, asset management initiatives, and development approvals, and providing technical expertise and strategic guidance across the organization.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Leading the planning, design, and management of municipal infrastructure systems
- Overseeing engineering-related asset management programs and long-term capital planning
- Developing and implementing engineering policies, programs, and best practices
- Managing development approvals, corridor management, and road occupancy permits
- Preparing and managing annual operating and capital budgets, including 10-year forecasts
- Supervising staff and coordinating work across capital projects, design, and infrastructure management
- Managing consultants, contractors, and procurement processes in compliance with municipal policies
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, and safety standards
- Providing technical expertise and participating in regional and cross-functional initiatives
- Preparing reports for senior leadership and Council, and attending meetings as required
- Acting as Director of Infrastructure Services in their absence
The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in municipal or civil engineering environments
- Strong knowledge of Ontario regulations, standards, and infrastructure practices
- Proven leadership experience, including team supervision and development
- Experience in capital project management, asset management, and municipal infrastructure planning
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to emergencies
- Proficiency with MS Office; AutoCAD is considered an asset
- Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license with a clean record
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
Complimentary Experience:
- Experience working within a municipal or public sector environment
- Familiarity with development approvals and land development processes
- Participation in regional engineering committees or technical working groups
- Experience supporting organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives
