The Opportunity:
Our client is looking to add a Collections Administrator to their team in Windsor, Ontario. The Collections Administrator will be responsible for managing customer accounts, following up on outstanding balances, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring timely payment collection while maintaining strong customer relationships. This position will also support account reconciliations, payment processing, reporting, and coordination with internal departments to help maintain accurate financial records and efficient collections operations.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Collecting outstanding payments and working with customers to establish payment arrangements
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account records while reviewing overdue accounts and taking appropriate follow-up actions
- Handling customer inquiries professionally, including preparing reconciliations and statements, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments and refunds
- Compiling weekly customer account reports and providing updates to management
- Applying customer payments to the appropriate invoices and accounts
- Preparing invoice corrections and payment adjustments as required
- Tracking customer invoices against approved purchase orders when necessary
- Contacting customers regarding overdue balances through phone, email, and mail correspondence, including conducting timely follow-ups
- Recommending escalated collection actions or service discontinuation when required, while coordinating with internal teams
- Supporting additional administrative and accounting-related duties as needed
The Ideal Candidate:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possesses excellent negotiation and customer relationship management abilities
- Proficient with Sage 300 and Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience in collections, finance, accounts receivable, or customer service
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
