The Opportunity:
Our client is a large-scale manufacturing organization (non-automotive) that is looking to add a Supply Chain Supervisor to their team in Windsor, Ontario. The Supply Chain Supervisor will be responsible for leading and developing the Supply Chain Planning team while overseeing material availability, inventory optimization, and inbound logistics to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The role will proactively manage supply risks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure accurate data and performance reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Purchasing raw materials and production supplies while ensuring accurate purchase order processing, effective supplier communication, and coordination with logistics partners.
- Leading and mentoring Supply Chain Planners to create a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team.
- Coaching team members through ongoing feedback, performance evaluations, and development opportunities.
- Coordinating team priorities, workloads, and responsibilities while ensuring alignment with company procedures and supply chain best practices.
- Maintaining appropriate raw material inventory levels to support production requirements while controlling excess inventory and working capital.
- Identifying potential supply disruptions related to suppliers, lead times, transportation, and material availability while developing appropriate contingency plans.
- Partnering with procurement and suppliers to monitor performance, resolve issues, and support vendor evaluation, sourcing, and negotiation activities.
- Overseeing inbound material shipments to support accurate and timely deliveries while coordinating with logistics providers to improve efficiency and manage transportation costs.
- Driving continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives across supply planning, purchasing, inventory, and logistics activities.
- Evaluating planning and inventory processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and operational performance.
- Collaborating with internal teams to provide accurate supply chain data required for regulatory and reporting purposes.
- Monitoring key performance indicators, budgets, and departmental results while preparing reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive experience within supply chain, materials planning, forecasting, or inventory-related functions, including at least three years of experience leading or managing a team.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
- Broad understanding of manufacturing operations and supporting functions, including warehousing, inventory, transportation, and financial processes.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments and organizational levels.
- Flexibility to travel to supplier facilities and other business locations when necessary.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing responsibilities, priorities, and deadlines with limited day-to-day direction.
