The Opportunity:
Our client, in the manufacturing industry is looking to add a Senior Financial Analyst to their team in Scarborough, Ontario. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing trade spend, analyzing profitability, and supporting financial performance and decision-making across commercial, manufacturing, and distribution functions.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Owning the budgeting and forecasting process for contract manufacturing, including sales, inventory costs, trade, and SG&A.
- Partnering with Key Account Managers to evaluate opportunities, risks, and commercial decisions.
- Developing financial scenarios and models to support decision-making and assess the impact of key business choices.
- Challenging assumptions and providing alternative approaches to address business challenges.
- Identifying risks and opportunities versus plan and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Supporting long-range planning and business cases for new product launches and network changes.
- Partnering with global distribution to analyze freight, warehousing, and logistics costs and identify efficiencies across markets.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for distribution, including ownership of the distribution P&L.
- Creating financial models to support network, logistics, and service-level decision.
- Preparing and delivering monthly financial reporting for the Strategic Partner BU and Scarborough manufacturing facility.
- Translating operational drivers into clear financial insights for leadership.
- Reviewing KPIs, performance trends, and cost drivers with functional leaders and providing actionable recommendations.
- Supporting month-end close activities, including trade accruals and variance analysis.
- Maintaining strong financial controls and supporting audit requirements.
- Identifying and resolving data integrity and reporting process gaps.
- Analyzing product and partner profitability, including cost variances, yield, scrap, rework, freight, and other cost drivers.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by quantifying savings and tracking realized benefits.
- Collaborating with Master Data and Cost Accounting to ensure accurate costing and financial integrity.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- CPA designated (or actively pursuing).
- 3–5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, operational finance, or commercial finance.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and exposure to manufacturing and/or supply chain finance.
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated business acumen with a history of delivering results.
