Organization Tip
Prioritize the candidate experience! Personalize communication and provide regular updates to candidates. Look for and be open to feedback throughout the year to continually improve the recruitment process for your candidates and your organization.
Candidate Tip
Customize your resume for each application, especially for highly specialized roles. Highlight your relevant skills, experiences, and accomplishments and align those with the job description. Always try to use the same keywords in the job description on your resume. Bonus tip – save the job description in a folder on your computer or email it to yourself after you apply. You’ll need this if the company calls you in for an interview, and it may not always still be available. Good luck!

Organization Tip
Be flexible when scheduling interviews! When working with a recruitment firm, you are often presented with passive candidates who are currently working and may not be able to take time off to attend an interview. Incorporate flexibility in the interview process by holding virtual interviews or allowing candidates to book time during the lunch hour or after hours. Providing this flexibility goes a long way in the candidate experience and signals to potential employees that you care.
Candidate Tip
Update your LinkedIn profile regularly and treat your profile like you would a resume. Recruiters often receive a wish list of criteria from hiring managers including certifications, education, software knowledge, specific industries worked in, previous job titles, etc. We then use this criteria to search for candidates who would be a good fir for the role. By keeping your LinkedIn up to date and including detailed information, you make it possible for recruiters to find you for your next opportunity.

Organization Tip
In today’s market, work-life balance is one of the most important aspects for a candidate that can influence their decision to change career paths. Although salary is an important topic, especially with the rise of inflation in the current economy, many candidates are willing to have conversations regarding new roles that may offer the same, or sometimes even lower salary ranges if it offers them more options regarding hybrid or fully remote work. As an organization, it is important to keep in mind that you are no longer competing with just your local competitors, but you are now also competing with many other organizations regionally that are also looking for top talent to fill their roles.
Candidate Tip
When job searching, it is important to set a salary standard for yourself, but also don’t be afraid to join an organization where you can prove yourself and build yourself up over time. A company with good corporate culture will most likely reward those who are willing to work hard and demonstrate success in their role.
