The Opportunity:
Our client, in the pharmaceutical industry is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Windsor, Ontario. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance operations to ensure continuous production by managing routine preventative maintenance and optimizing equipment reliability, safety, and manufacturing efficiencies.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Assuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, environmental, quality, and safety standards in the functional area.
- Conducting root cause analyses and swiftly overseeing emergency repairs of dietary supplement processing equipment, while effectively identifying and resolving underlying issues to minimize downtime and boost throughput.
- Supporting the rollout of a preventative and predictive maintenance program to enhance equipment reliability, increase uptime, and adhere to established tracking protocols for all maintenance activities.
- Planning and implementing maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and availability of equipment on the manufacturing site.
- Scheduling and executing timely preventative maintenance tasks to facilitate smooth operation of production machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Collaborating with manufacturing operations to evaluate critical spare parts requirements and manage appropriate inventory levels.
- Applying problem-solving skills in maintaining pharmaceutical and food processing equipment, HVAC systems, Purified Water Systems, and instrumentation in line with GMP standards.
- Managing the inventory of maintenance spare parts by ordering necessary materials and equipment for timely replenishment.
- Ensuring equipment safety and reliability through the management of preventive maintenance initiatives while strictly adhering to health and safety regulations, including GMP, HACCP, and FDA requirements.
- Performing routine preventative maintenance and adeptly troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, with the ability to conduct repairs independently or seek assistance from suppliers.
- Enhancing production line efficiency by ensuring equipment reliability, as measured by Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or a college diploma in a technical field, complemented by vocational training as a technician in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in progressive technical maintenance management, preferably within the food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or GMP dietary supplement industries.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance best practices, with a strong focus on preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
- In-depth mechanical or electrical knowledge related to the upkeep of manufacturing equipment, along with an understanding of HACCP and GMP standards.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and monitoring systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, paired with strong interpersonal abilities and troubleshooting capabilities, enabling successful cross-team collaboration.
- Proven ability to perform well in a dynamic manufacturing environment, maintaining a focus on productivity and efficiency.
