Human Resources Generalist
Union Water Supply System Inc. (UWSS Inc.) is a Municipal Services Corporation that was jointly established by the municipalities of Leamington, Kingsville, Essex and Lakeshore. The Union Water Supply System was initially established in 1959 by the Ontario Water Resources Commission. In 2001, the province of Ontario transferred ownership of the drinking water system to the four municipalities of Leamington, Kingsville, Essex and Lakeshore.
UWSS Inc. owns and manages the Union Water Supply System on behalf of these 4 municipalities. The UWSS drinking water system provides treated drinking water to more than 68,000 residents in these 4 municipalities. The system also provides treated water to a large agrifood industry including one of the largest concentration of greenhouses in North America.
UWSS Inc. has initiated a significant capital works program to address the water demand associated with the growth in its four shareholder municipalities. These works include treatment plant and reservoir expansion projects and renewals/upgrades to existing treatment, storage and transmission facilities.
