
Engineering Lead
Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions is currently recruiting for an Engineering Lead to be the primary technical liaison for a Windsor facility, who will serve as the lead engineer on material review and contractor control boards. This position will have the responsibility for all N/C, CNC programming and Unigraphics system establishment and development. This position is also responsible for directing and leading the evaluation and establishments of methods of manufacture and assembly of the product.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise a team of engineers while coordinating work with other departments such as sales, production control, quality, purchasing, program support and accounting
- Lead the New Product Introduction process by providing a complete manufacturing process to production and quality including how and what to measure when machining product
- Propose alternate methods of manufacturing and provide feasibility studies to support proposals and generate planning documents
- Prepare reports for management on the status of manufacturing engineering projects
- Translate contract requirements into work instructions, processes and tasks
- Assist sales and marketing initiatives by providing technical support for bids and proposals
- Review engineering change notices (ECNs), reviewing engineering requests (ECRs) and evaluating/disposing of discrepant parts
- Continuously work towards establishing and improving manufacturing methods and processes for efficiency and preparing cost reduction proposals
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- A minimum of a four-year technical degree in Engineering or Masters in Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing with additional experience in business development, program management, production control and finance are preferred
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality system and SPC tools
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving and computer skills
- Professional and well spoken
- Strong oral and written communication
- Flexible to work up to 60hrs/week
- Ability to wear PPE at all times and lift up to 40lbs on occasion
- Will be required to work within the confines of the shop floor and office
